About the Think Bicycles Coalition of Johnson County

The Think Bicycles Coalition of Johnson County links cyclists and bicycling groups with city, county and state officials to foster and expand all aspects of bicycling in Johnson County. The Think Bicycles Coalition seeks to educate all roadway users, to expand cycling infrastructure, to increase access to transportation and recreational trails, and to encourage community members to ride bicycles.

History

In late 2009 and early 2010, representatives of bicycle and trails organizations in Johnson County met to discuss opportunities to improve local communication, event promotion and advocacy. The attendees (see sponsors on homepage) agreed the two top priorities of the committee included development of a website to provide a central source of bicycling news for Johnson County and coordinated promotion of Bike to Work Week events in May. This organization is known as the Think Bicycles Coalition of Johnson County.
